Israeli Elections, Gaza Rocket Attacks, and Priorities

LOTL..
12 November '12..

As rocket attacks against southern Israel's civilian population continue throughout the day, almost all political leaders and party heads have weighed in as to what approach they feel should be taken.

The following is from the Galei Zahal site:

(Labor Party head Shelly) Yechimovich to Galei Zahal (Army Radio) 12/11/12 "This is not the time for a wider operation in Gaza"

...the head of the opposition MK Shelly Yechimovich was asked concerning the matter (continuing  rocket attacks against Israel): "We are on the eve of elections, and for an action that goes beyond air strikes or pinpoint targeting of terrorists, there is a need for stability and national consensus. It is possible there is a need for an action like this, but not now."

One can only wonder whether the residents of southern Israel will agree that an operation that could bring the rocket attacks to a halt should be deferred due this being the eve of elections. Anyone like to take a guess?
